Lists using actual words? What? That's SOOOO first half of 2009
Yeah, really? You're Twitter feeds still use words to indicate a new entry? What? Do you still have one of those translucent beepers too, and a [snicker] land line home phone [snicker].
Well folks, it's true. Your bondage to the archaic, is over. You no longer have to spend that agonizing 1/5 of second reading an actual word simply to become aware that someone has posted something to Twitter. Thanks to the features now available in HTML 5 and a group of developers from 9Elements.com you could probably see just how many posts you have to read using nothing but your peripheral vision.
These guys came up with some goofy deal that uses little multi-colored dots, whirling around on your screen like a kaleidoscope on acid, to represent an entry on Twitter. If you are coordinated enough to get your mouse on top of one of these little colored dots, as they are whizzing around your screen, you can click on it and it will display the Twitter message it represents. You can also drag dots or groups of dots all over the place. Whip then up into some sort of Twitter frenzy! Pretty cool actually. See it Here: http://9elements.com/io/projects/html5/canvas/ . It kind of reminds me of those random computer screens you see in the backgrounds of movies with all the weird flashing colors and whatever.
Anyway, it's pretty cool. I'm not sure how useful it is, but I'm sure someone will but the idea to good use. It's just a matter of time.
