Please don't watch this whole thing.
Wow, so a friend of mind sent me this link of what appears to be a Microsoft store on opening day, or something.
Please don't watch the whole thing. 45 seconds or so will give you MORE then enough information to understand what is going on.
First of all, why are there Microsoft stores? I think we all know the answer to this - Because Apple has stores. Despite the attempts to discredit the Microsoft employee (not associated with Windows 7 development in any way) when he said that Microsoft was going for a OSX "look and feel", it's true! Not only is it true but it's nothing new!
I believe, since the inception of Microsoft Windows (I think 3 was the first popular release before 3.1) Microsoft had been trying to incorporate the "look and feel" of the Mac OS. Mac has always been known for thier GUI and ease of use.
Thankfully Microsoft has started to realize that it's not as much about the look and feel, or even the ease of use that draws people to a Mac. It 90% about culture and perception. I think MS is starting to figure this out by opening stores and putting trendy looking people in coffee shops on their commercials. Unfortunately MS hasn't quite figured out how to pull off this image change. Which is clearly evident in this... this... wow... uhh.. lame attempt to be hip or whatever it was they were trying to do with this Thriller-rip-off-a-little-late-flash-mob-staged attempt at spontaneity
Microsoft, please do yourselves and all of us a favor. Be who you are. Stop trying to be Apple! It's like Einstein Bro's trying to be Starbucks, or whatever. If you want a good bagel with tons of options you got to Einstein's. If you want a superior cup of coffee, you go to Starbucks. Don't expect a GREAT bagel at Starbucks and don't expect a great coffee at Einstein. If you want an affordable, versatile, works with everything, computer. Get a PC with Windows. You want a super pretty, trendy, works great with what it's intended to work great with, and sorta does what it does, and virtually impossible to screw up computer, buy a Mac.

Why Did I Doubt You?
I should have heeded the warning you gave in the title but, alas, I did not.
A few thoughts I had while watching this:
So what you're saying is: "Windows 7: Everything you hate about Apple with all the normal irritations of Windows."
