End of an era...
Although this story has already been beat to death all over the internet, I’m still going to write a little something about it anyway – I’m like that. The Space Shuttle program has come to an end with the final landing of the Space shuttle Atlantis.
It’s a sad, sad day. The shuttle program was such a huge part of space exploration and kept the U.S. at the top of the game for 30+ years.
It bothers me that no real plan, that I can find, for a space program anywhere near the scale of the Shuttle program has been announced. There’s been a ton of cheer-leading and positive comments but nothing concrete, no time tables, no goals, nothing. It’s really sad. I wish I could say this was the end of an era and the beginning of something new, but it’s just not the case. It’s simply the end of an era.
